Use this guide to create a Google Ads conversion action so purchases can be tracked correctly for ad performance and reporting.
⭐ Overview
Google Ads conversion actions allow you to measure when customers complete important actions—like a purchase—after clicking an ad. In this setup, you’ll create a purchase conversion and send installation instructions directly to the Open team so the tag can be added correctly.
📝 Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to Google Ads and navigate to
Goals → Conversions → Summary.
Click Create conversion action.
Select Purchase as the conversion goal.
Click Add conversion action, then choose the domain name associated with the account.
Select Set up manually using a code.
Click Done to close the sidebar, then select Save and continue.
On the setup screen, select Email instructions to your webmaster.
Enter [email protected] in the email field and submit the instructions.
Confirm that Page load is selected as the trigger type.
This is usually selected by default
If not, select Page load before submitting
💡 Tips
Always select Purchase (not Page View) to ensure revenue-driving actions are tracked correctly.
If you don’t see your domain listed, confirm the correct Google Ads account is selected.
You do not need to install code yourself—sending the instructions completes your setup.
Conversion data may take 24–48 hours to begin appearing in Google Ads after setup.
